New roof or re-roof - what is the difference?
A re-roof replaces the coverings on your existing roof structure; a new roof usually refers to building a roof on a new structure such as an extension. We handle both, and where your existing roof needs structural timber work we will identify it at survey stage - not halfway through the job.
Choosing your covering
Natural slate offers the longest life and a traditional appearance. Concrete tiles are durable and cost-effective. Clay tiles suit period properties. We will talk you through the options for your home's style, your budget and any local planning considerations before you decide.

- How long does a re-roof take?
- A typical house takes one to two weeks depending on size, covering choice and weather. We will give you a programme before starting and keep your home weathertight throughout.
- Will I need to move out?
- No. The work happens outside, and we keep the roof weathertight at the end of every day.
- Do I need planning permission to re-roof?
- Usually not for like-for-like replacement, though there are exceptions - for example in conservation areas or if you change the roof's shape or covering significantly. We can advise on your specific situation.
