Misted, cracked or broken glazing does not always mean a whole new window. Where the frame is sound, the glazing unit itself can often be replaced - restoring clarity and thermal performance at a fraction of the cost of a new window.
We reglaze VELUX roof windows with modern double-glazed units, and can advise where upgrading the glazing makes sense versus when the whole window is at the end of its life.

Misted glazing - what it means
Condensation inside the double glazing means the unit's seal has failed - it has lost its insulating gas and will only get cloudier. The fix is a new glazing unit fitted into the existing frame where the frame is in good condition.

- Can you replace just the glass in a VELUX window?
- In most cases, yes - if the frame and mechanism are sound, a new glazing unit is fitted into the existing frame. If the frame itself is failing, we will tell you replacement is the better option.
